Optical Score Recognition for Mac & Windows

PhotoScore, from Neuratron Software, scans and reads printed music into Sibelius. Once the music is read, you can edit or transpose the score in Sibelius, play it back, extract parts and print -- just as if you'd inputted it yourself.

PhotoScore builds on the features of PhotoScore Lite (which is included free with Sibelius), in three important areas:

Reads more - Reads Faster - More accurate

Reads more
PhotoScore is the most advanced software package of its kind. Capable of reading thirty-two staves of music per page, two polyphonic voices per stave, as many as eight different types of clef, seven different kinds of accidentals, and articulation marks like staccato, tenuto, hairpins, and fermatas (pauses).

PhotoScore even reads text such as dynamics, which is included in your score for editing in Sibelius. (Note that text reading cannot be as accurate as dedicated text OCR software because of the wide variety of fonts and sizes used in each score.)

Reads faster
The full professional version of PhotoScore is up to 60% faster than PhotoScore Lite. Because PhotoScore is so quick to read a page, it's the lightning-fast way to make arrangements, transpositions and editions.

More accurate
PhotoScore uses specially optimised optical recognition routines to gain higher levels of accuracy than ever before, and the more accurate PhotoScore becomes, the less time needs to be spent by the user to correct errors.

System requirements
System requirements for PhotoScore are identical to those for Sibelius. Click here for more details. Mac users should note that you will require a TWAIN-compatible scanner for use with PhotoScore.
